¿Cómo llego?

Fifth grade students learned how to give and receive directions in Spanish. Each student guided their blindfolded classmate to the grassfield using only directions in Spanish. For example, caminar derecho (walk straight), doblar izquierda (turn left), doblar derecha (turn right). Students quickly learned giving proper directions is key to arriving at your destination.

Las Estaciones (The Seasons) - Séptimo (Seventh) Grado

The seventh graders are reviewing the seasons of the year - otoño (fall), invierno (winter), primavera (spring) and verano (summer). In doing so, they were given different photographs of each season and paired up in groups. While one student gave a detailed description of the photograph in Spanish, the other student drew what they heard. Above are some of the photographs and drawings from this activity.

Verbos con -AR - Sexto Grado

The sixth grade students learned how to conjugate verbs ending in -AR (o, as, amos, an). In addition to the conjugations, students learned how to use the conjugated verbs in a sentence - Nosotros hablamos español or Yo estudio mucho. Students learned how to tell where someone/something is by stating their location - Juan está en San Diego. Make sure you ask a sixth grader how to conjugate a verb ending in -AR!

Pasatiempo Encuesta - Séptimo Grado

The seventh graders were studying pastimes or pasatiempos in Spanish. They were asked to create a survey or encuesta for their students. The encuesta consisted of five questions regarding their classmates favorite pastimes. Each student was requiered to answer their classmates encuesta. Once the encuestas were filled out, each student created a bar graph or gráfico de barras to display their results. When writing out their summaries, students were asked to use the present tense as well as the present progressive. To view the results visit the tcsnmy7 Tumblr and click on the individual student blogs.
