Poemas Calaveras
Spanish students studied poemas calaveras when studying Día de los Muertos. Poemas calaveras are satirical rhymes which are written during Día de los Muertos. They are meant to make people laugh. Here is an example of a poema calavera written by the eighth grade.

La Casa en Mango Street Proyecto - Octavo Grado
Eighth graders read La Casa en Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. It was a challenging book for them to read in Spanish. However, they learned many new vocabulary words and sayings. After reading the book, eighth graders wrote stories (similiar to the ones in the book) about their street or school. Below are some of the stories they wrote.

Pobre Ana - Séptimo Grado
Seventh graders read the book, Pobre Ana by Blaine Ray. The class was divided into two groups and each group decided to make a movie. Grupo uno movie is loosely based on the book, while grupo dos movie is based on the book.
