Haciendo los Tamales - Quinto, Sexto y Octavo Grado

NMY students were fortunate to have AC’s mom and grandmother teach us how to make tamales. Prior to making tamales, students learned about the history and traditions of tamales as well as their ingredients (hoja de plátano, hoja de maíz, ajonjoli, chilé, tomatillos, pollo, queso, etc). Last Friday, each student made one Mexican and one Guatemalan tamale. ¡Muchas gracias a Vicky y a Doña Amparo!
